November 12, 2020 - Update about COVID-19 Testing Procedures

November 12, 2020 at 4:00 p.m.

The update below was sent to all students today. Please encourage your students to take advantage of this free COVID testing program for the health and safety of themselves, their families and friends.

We have good news to share. The COVID-19 test kits from Everlywell, which we described yesterday in a message about our testing plans, are arriving sooner than expected. This means that Duquesne will be able to distribute the tests, free of charge, to all Duquesne students (both residents and commuters), earlier than originally announced.

The Everlywell take-home tests will be distributed in the Multipurpose Room in the Towers Living Learning Center. Distribution will start on Monday, November 16, at 9 a.m. Complete hours are listed below. Students do not need to need to sign up in advance; you can simply visit and pick up a test. As noted previously, the first 3,000 students to pick up tests also will get a free t-shirt celebrating a successful semester at Duquesne.

Monday, November 16          9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Tuesday, November 17          9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Wednesday, November 18    9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Thursday, November 19        9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Friday, November 20               9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Saturday, November 21         9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Sunday, November 22             NONE

Monday, November 23          9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Tuesday, November 24           9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Wednesday, November 25    9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Students are reminded to plan carefully on when to administer your test. Results are returned within 24-48 hours of being received by Everlywell. To accommodate for time needed to mail the test, those who choose to take their test before returning home should take the test no later than four days prior to scheduled departure.

If you have signed up to leave campus on or before Thursday, November 19, and wish to get a test kit sooner than Monday, November 16, please email to make arrangements.

Our goal is to ensure that you, and your friends and family, remain safe and healthy throughout the Thanksgiving holiday and for the rest of the year. We therefore encourage all students to pick up your free test and complete it at a time that works best for your schedule.
